Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is a key technology for tackling climate change, focusing on reducing the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere from large industrial sources ð. In research, scientists are developing new, more efficient adsorbents and solvents, such as special porous materials (MOFs) or ionic liquids, to make the CO2 capture process more cost-effective and less energy-intensive. This research not only helps achieve environmental goals but also creates opportunities to repurpose the captured CO2 for other industries, such as in the production of synthetic fuels.
